About Us

I work with organisations on major change initiatives as a Programme/Project Manager. I have been working in this area for many years. I am also a coach and mentor to SMEs and senior managers in business. These two areas are interlinked with the lynch pin being CHANGE.
Background
I graduated with an honours degree in Accounting & Finance and qualified as an ACMA two years later. I had never wanted to take the traditional route and become a Finance Director and after 'serving time' in mainstream accounting I immersed myself in systems work, improving the organisation for the better with the use of technology. My ambition was to become a consultant with one of the big five and I consequently joined Ernst & Young MCS (later taken over by Cap Gemini) on their Oracle team. I went on to work with GE Capital on their Oracle deployments heading up the team in Paris.
It was around this time that I realised that I was experiencing the effects of burnout. One of the main pressure points was the adverse way that many people reacted to the changes that my team was implementing. Ever the professional I did not allow this to affect my work, causing even more pressure and exacerbating the burnout. Once it became clear that this was caused through stress i.e. the way I handled my pressure and the reaction of others, I studied for and gained a Diploma in Stress Management and Accreditation as a Coach. This was great for my recovery as I found the studying very therapeutic and as I enjoy identifying problems and implementing solutions it seemed very natural. A great learning point for me was understanding why we all react differently to change. To supplement my coaching skills I studied for two years to become an NLP Master Practitioner. I was able to look back on my projects with a greater understanding not only of why I reacted the way I did, when I did, but why others had too! A real eye opener! I was so excited about these new insights and couldn't wait to help others understand too. And so another service offering was born - stress coaching and training.

I love the variety that project work gives me. I quickly become bored with the routine of 'business as usual', unless something needs major improvement or is going badly wrong!!! I realised that the only way to gain this variety of assignments and have the freedom to develop my coaching practice was to work as an independent consultant.
The result was Aurelius Consulting Ltd. As well as providing project management services for systems implementations and process improvement, I offer coaching and mentoring services supporting SMEs and senior managers. I am currently working with a number of SMEs in the North West helping owner managers to take their businesses to the next level.
