What happens in a session?

One size doesn't fit all when it comes to solutions to our problems. Our issues are unique to us, so Jacqui uses a number of techniques to tailor the sessions for you. The objective is for you to feel as comfortable as possible whilst you work through your issues. Jacqui is qualified to use the following:

Stress Management Techniques

If you come to the session presenting stress signs and symptoms then we will review your lifestyle and health in terms of attitude to work, how you relax, your sleep patterns, your relationship with food, alcohol, cigarettes etc. This is where Jacqui is most likely to offer some advice to change the way you approach certain aspects of your life to combat stress. You don't have to take it, you're in control.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Jacqui is an NLP Master Practitioner and uses the various models and patterns of NLP in her work with her clients and in her change work with organisations. NLP can be useful in helping the client become more self aware and understand the thought processes and behaviours that are self sabotaging. NLP can be invaluable in helping clients to discover their own resources to overcome their problems.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or Tapping

Jacqui uses a technique called EFT in her sessions. This is a quick, but very effective technique which helps to neutralise the causes of stress, pain, phobias, addictions ... the list goes on. It involves tapping on some of the acupuncture points in the body to encourage the free flow of energy in the body. It has to be tried to be believed!

It is something that you as the client can use on yourself, even outside of the sessions. The results can be extremely quick and there are no known side effects. Prepare to be amazed!

If this seems a bit 'out there', then don't worry it's not compulsory!

Jacqui says 'I am all for finding the quickest and most practical way of resolving issues, so that we can get on with living! I am so impressed with EFT. It is such a simple set of techniques that creates incredible results. When people are stressed they find it very difficult to relax especially as thinking or talking about their issues can bring on intense emotional reactions e.g. anger, frustration, deep sadness and grief. EFT is a very gentle way of dealing with the issues without the emotional intensity, although I'm not saying there won't be any tears! Clients who have tried it always leave the session feeling much more relaxed and calm than when they walked in.'

Coaching

When you come to a session wanting to work on something I will act as your guide in finding the solutions that suit you. My approach with my clients is one of a non-directive coach. I will not give you advice without permission and I will not tell you what to do. An effective coach should be a good listener and not get drawn into the content of your problem. It is enough that you understand your issue and imperative that you are open to change! Remember 'change is inevitable' and 'everybody resists change'. Coaching is not counselling. Yes, we will talk about your issue, but we will work together to find a solution to your issue quickly without weeks and weeks of therapy sessions.
